Sometimes our busy children are not only busy on the outside, but they feel the busyness inside their heads too. It makes it so difficult for them to have to listen to the instructions we give them and then to follow through with these instructions without becoming distracted.

Busy children find it particularly helpful to have lists in order to keep track of where they are and what they still need to get done.

Lists for getting ready in the morning, lists for managing chores, lists of homework needing to be completed, lists of tasks they want to complete.

​

If children are able to learn to manage their time more effectively by using lists, it becomes a coping skill that they develop which will be useful throughout their lives.
